I asked for service to start August 5th and was told that would be the case. Instead it was installed and activated by July 23rd. I was told I would not be billed for the time before I asked for service to start. Then I called and cancelled the service before it was supposed to start, and yet received a bill for almost $150 (my services were only $35 a month). Now I will have to wait until business hours (when I will be working) to call and have the charges corrected. Meanwhile, I also have to find a place to print a shipping label then take the modem they delivered 2 weeks early to be shipped back to AT&T, all on my own time, to avoid additional charges. This whole thing has been an incredible inconvenience. Every customer service person I spoke to was very kind and helpful, but so far all of them have either made a mistake or misled me and increased my overall dissatisfaction with AT&T. I'm glad I've decided not to switch to AT&T and I don't know that I ever will after this situation.

So far we really like the new u-verse system. I did have a great deal of problems getting to the right people for some questions I had. I think I was referred to about four or five different numbers. A couple of times I was being transferred and was cut off. Each time I had to start ALL over again with the same info and questions . This is not just AT&T ---all large companies are the same way. It seems the employees are unconcerned whether you are helped or not. I was very happy with the men that came to the house to do the installation. They were very patient and helpful when I ask my questions. One of them even called back later that day to see if things were going ok or if I had anymore questions.
