What is the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program?

The federal ACP is an FCC benefit program that helps qualified customers pay for home internet service.

For qualifying households, the federal ACP provides a benefit on eligible internet, prepaid wireless and postpaid wireless. You can save up to $30/mo. on your internet bill, or up to $75/mo. off your internet plan if you reside on qualifying Tribal lands.

If you qualify for the federal Affordable Connectivity Program, you can apply your benefit to your current AT&T Internet service. To receive up to $30 per month off your internet bill, follow the steps provided by the AT&T ACP page.

Do I qualify for the federal ACP benefit?

You might qualify for the ACP benefit if you meet one of the following criteria:

Your household income is at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines.

You participate in a qualifying federal assistance program.

Does AT&T use the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program?

AT&T no longer offers the EBB program, as it was replaced by the federal ACP benefit.

Can I apply for multiple ACP discounts?

No, you cannot receive multiple federal ACP discounts for the same household. The federal ACP provides one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.

Is the ACP program permanent?

The federal ACP was created to be a permanent program, and as of now the FCC has not set an expiration date for the program.

Can multiple people in my household receive the Affordable Connectivity Program benefit?

The federl Affordable Connectivity Program applies to your entire household. Each household can only receive a single service discount.

What AT&T Internet plans are eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program?

All AT&T Internet plans are eligible for the federal ACP, including AT&T Fiber, which offers up to 5 GIG speeds in select locations. The federal ACP benefit will remain on your account, even if you change your AT&T Internet plan.

You are responsible for any amount over the ACP $30 per month (or over $75 per month on Tribal lands) benefit.

What services are covered under the ACP?

The federal ACP covers any home internet service, including cable, fiber optic, DSL, and fixed wireless services.

What is considered a "household" when looking to apply for the ACP?

According to the federal ACP guidelines, a household is any person or group of people who live together and share money. Even if you’re not related, if you share finances and live together, you are a household. For more information about what qualifies as a household, you can visit the federal ACP website.

How do I know if I qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program?

You may be eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program if your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or if a member of your household meets at least one of the following criteria:

  • Participates in one of these federal assistance programs:
    • SNAP
    • Medicaid
    • Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, including at U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Eligibility Provision schools
    • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
    • Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits
    • Lifeline
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;
  • Participates in one of these assistance programs and lives on Qualifying Tribal lands:
    • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
    • Tribal TANF
    • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
